Being a newbie to TABBLO I would like to start a topic on Travel Agents, past and present experiences. The costs involved and the size of group tours. My first recommendation for small group adventures is with the Canadian based GAP adventures. They travel to most destinations world wide and are the agents I will return to next year, for my next major trip. Just Google "GAP adventures" or go to http://www.gapadventures.com/
Don't be put off by the term adventure either. There are 3-4 levels of comfort and pricing on offer. The price range will reflect the age grouping that it attracts. Average sizes of groups are from 10 to 15 in numbers. Ages encountered are spead between 20 and 65.
Have a look at the competition also and note their larger group sizes also. We took two tours in 2007 with GAP and we will definitely stick with them for the personal attention that small groups attract. Mike.

A good friend of mine (GAP customer) from California, recently told me of another small group travel agency: Overseas Adventure Travel (http://www.oattravel.com/gcc/general/default.aspx?linklocation=topnav She has recently been to Tibet and China with them and has recommended them to me. Mike.

I received a 'nudge' today suggesting a new group for Travel tours, and since I have already made quite a number of these, and will probably tackle a few more, if I get to go anywhere interesting again, I thought it would be a good idea to set up a Trip Tabblo Group.
I know many of you have made trips and made some beautiful tabblos, so please join in and submit your tabblos to this group, and we can all enjoy some cyber-vacations!
Cheers JoanW

Great idea...

Thanks so much for the invite. Our trip to the big apple is nothing like your World Tours LOL!!! But your group made me look back to one of my earliest Tabblos.

Awesome group. Thanks Joan.

(Boy is this cheaper than getting on a plane) :)

Thanks for being the first to submit a tabblo to the group, I haven't looked at it yet, but will get to it very soon.
Sorry if you get two invites....something went wrong with the "invite people' gizmo. I typed in a message and clicked on Continue, but nothing seemed to happen, I never got a message saying "Sent", and the green bar at the bottom of the page did not complete it's travel across the page. So now everyone will probably get TWO notices. Ah well, better two than none, at least!
....and you are right about a cheap way to travel....LOL!

This is a wonderful idea! I love seeing places I've never actually traveled to on Tabblo. It will be nice having many of them together in one place.

Welcome everyone! I am so happy to see people joining and pouring in the new tabblo's (well, maybe not necessarily 'new'), but it's great to see that we already have 47 tabblos assembled in just two days, and so much of the world gathered together in one place for us all to have several happy trips with all these lovely photographs.
Keep 'em coming.....Cheers JoanW

Thanks for the invite! This is definitely the place for some of my stuff. And to think that I'm more of a home guy :)

Thanks for the invite Joan. This is a great idea! How I love to travel. If I could I would be on the road all the time. It is so interesting visiting new places. Learning about the different cultures. Meeting the people and seeing how they live. I won't be taking any big trips for awhile. Saving my pennies to do a nice trip to Europe in a few years. So with that said, this will be a great way to travel. Seeing it through the eyes and photos of others!

This is a great idea Joan for grouping all travel stories. It will provide a base and source for those of us that are heavily engaged in traveling and need guidance on new locations to visit. I spent some time searching for such a place to post my stories and now thanks to you I have found it. I will try to balance my photos with story telling and not labor the point too much. I have much to learn in this regard, but will welcome any advice from the established members here. Mike
