Amazon Overpack

I ordered 4 Lego Duplo base plates from Amazon for my daughter. I placed a single order for them all.

These base plates are 15" square, about a quarter inch thick, and weigh no more than a few ounces.

Amazon shipped them to me in boxes that measure 10'x20'x26'.

Actually Amazon shipped them to me in FOUR boxes that measure 10"x20"x26".

Not only that, one of the boxes was EMPTY! Nothing in it except plastic packing material. Not even a packing slip or any of the promotional leaflets they stuff into the other boxes was there.

So now I have 4 boxes and tons of packing material to dispose of. This means I must now make a special call to the trash department and I have to cut the boxes up into smaller bits (for recycling I think).

I contacted Amazon about the missing plate and they are sending a replacement. Which means I will now have FIVE BIG BOXES with lots of packing material to dispose of. Swell.

I should also be outraged about the impact to the environment and all the waste, but I just don't have the energy.

This is a nice way to use Tabblo, too!!

But, that is insane. It must be nice if Amazon is just raking the money in and they don't even care HOW they ship out...because each shipment LIKE YOURS costs them!!!! How stupid...I completely agree.....Great you documented this...now TAG it on Tabblo as WASTE, excess, AND AMAZON!!! :-)
