The Pards at Guyatt

Duncan heard that the Spotted Pardalotes were nesting in an embankment near Lake Guyatt in Sale.

It didn't take long to spot them in the trees on the side of the canal. These little birds are often referred to as the jewels of the bush.

Even with two of us present, we were able to get quite close to their nesting burrow without disturbing them.

We were so absorbed, we didn't notice the White Faced Heron feeding nearby until right at the end. A wonderful session.

How wonderful! Beautiful photos of those little guys (I have never heard of that kind of bird, but they sure are cute and colorful) and the heron. More, more ...
