Along the Apache Trail

This area east of Phoenix is part of the Tonto National Forest.  The Lake was built as a resevoir to store water for the city about a hundred years ago.

While in Phoenix on business, I was able to go out east of town along the Apache Trail in the early morning and the late afternoon.  The sites were really gorgeous, but the landscapes were so wide that these shots do not do the scenary justice.

Stunning! The time of day does wonders to bring out Arizona's beauty, but you also captured interesting perspectives, a nice mix of foreground/backgrounds (the prickly pear near the water is great), and remarkable reflections.
