The magic of sun on a November day in Mount Douglas Park

This beautiful park is within walking distance of where I live. Nearly every day I walk my dogs here and no two days are the same. The top photo illustrates so well the effect of the ever-changing light on this particular day. It is made up of four different images, was not intended to be a panoramic shot originally but somehow, to me, it is magic!

Interesting effect with the panorama, especially considering that you hadn't taken the photos with that in mind. The last shot though, is magic for me - makes me think of faeries... and of something beautiful awaiting me, if I just walk a little further into the trees....

Wonderful pics Noreen, I love the way you have used the light and the lovely lacy patterns of the bare branches against the sky. They have a misty, mysterious quality and capture that mood so well.

J'adore ces images Noreen, elles sont une invitation à la promenade, une invitation à respirer dans ce beau sous-bois. Grand merci. salut mon amie.

The top one looks positively european as in Thomas Hardy country. The others certainly remind me of many walks taken in those woods. Brilliant as always!

Thank you all so much for your meaningful comments. The sentiment in your comments reinforces how very lucky I am to live so close to such a wonderful place. The dogs, of course, are in heaven every time we go there.

Very nice. The varied light in the panoramic photo is wonderful, but I am a real fan of the tree trunks.

That first shot reminds me of Ireland or Scotland~so removed from the rest of the world...I think Lucy would love exploring there- your dogs look so happy to be there!

Magical Noreen :) WHere is this ?
Hollyridger said at 1:28 p.m. on Feb 26, 2008:
Thanks for visiting, everyone and thanks for your meaningful comments. Deb, this is a local park in a mini forest within short walking distance of my house in Victoria, BC, Canada. I go there nearly every day. Victoria is a wonderful place to live if you enjoy dog-walking and nature photography. I feel as if I live in Paradise! Rhonda, I am originally from Scotland so there must be some influence.
