I was thrilled to actually catch these bad-boys in the air  during October, 2007. It was a cold day in the Rocky Mountains and standing several thousand feet above the town of Golden I heard the tell-tale sound of a high performance jet engine.

Searching the skies provided little until the lead jet roared overhead. Fortunately that set me up for success as I caught the wing-man passing seconds later.  The poor lighting didn't do much for the photos but this was more about the experience than anything else.

I can only guess that they were taking a dignitary out for a joy-ride through the mountains as they're stationed up at Cold Lake and aren't seen in the south that often.
