Amber Meets Gorilla

Gorilla watching Amber. Amber's mother is holding her.

Amber's hand on the glass.

Very focused on Amber.

Amber tried to kiss the gorilla by kissing the glass.

Cindy held Amber (16 months) up so she could see the gorillas. This one came up next to the glass to watch Amber.  An experience I don't think we'll ever forget.

There was an audible 'awwww' and a crowd gathered fairly quickly.

Thank you all for your comments!! The gorilla was sitting on a bench above when Cindy first held Amber up....he wasted no time getting down. It was amazing. I would have loved to have been able to 'catch' Amber's face, but with the crowd that gathered I couldn't. Perhaps I should have yelled, "Grandmother coming through". :-) When Amber tired of it and wanted away, the gorilla followed as far as the glass would let him.

Isn't that BEAUTIFUL. I remember last year when we went to the Louisville zoo, the gorilla's LOVED children. Adults would go close to the glass and the gorilla's wouldn't bother, but if a child was close to the glass, INSTANT attention. Great pictures!!!!!!

In the first picture Gorilla seems to be saying to the Mom "Don't worry, I'm a Mom too"
In the last one Gorilla is thinking very hard to find out when was the last time she saw such a cute little girl..Great tabblo, Luce
