~~ IN TIMES PAST ~ RABAT ~~

En fouillant dans le passé de Rabat, ma chère ville natale, j'ai eu la surprise de découvrir que de gros navires pouvaient franchir la redoutable passe du Bou-Regreg et les rouleaux de l'Atlantique. Mes parents n'ont pas le souvenir de tels bateaux accostant au port. Au fil des ans, l'embouchure s'est ensablée, et le phénomène a peut-être été aggravé par la construction d'un grand barrage en amont : une bonne partie de l'eau étant utilisée pour l'irrigation, le débit du fleuve a certainement diminué, amplifiant l'ensablement de l'embouchure. Dans les années 60, l' activité des barcassiers de notre enfance était encore grande, entre Rabat et Salé. Les petites barques de pêche devaient souvent compter avec la marée pour sortir en mer, mais pas le moindre souvenir d'un gros navire venant du large. Il faudrait probablement être bon centenaire pour pouvoir en témoigner... Dans les années 60, mes parents dansaient sous les feuillages des grands ficus de l'Agdal... Le jardin disparu de notre enfance frémissait à la lisière de la plus belle ville du monde au son des musiques de Chris Barber, Fausto Papetti, Fats Domino, Sydney Bechet... Ah! la belle époque où mes parents dansaient charleston, tango et tcha tcha tcha...

Magnifique flash-back sur notre ville blanche,Thierry!On reconnait bien certaines rues (sauf que les arbres ont poussé),l'embouchure du Bou-regreg et les Oudaias,mais notre Agdal n'était pas aussi verdoyant que du temps de notre enfance! Une belle émotion de découvrir toutes ces vues! Avec Pierre,on a reconnu Guy au premier coup d'oeil!!!Quand à Claudine et Yves,deux "stars" des années soixante.....avec en fond,le souvenir des échos du charleston,ainsi que la trompette de Sydney Bechet,ou la voix mélancolique des Platters..............Mille bravos à cette page ,Thierry!!!joelle

JO: 14 av. Berriau! (par coeur et d'un seul trait!) mais le nom de la rue a changé, la grande maison blanche a été "retravaillée" mais y'a toujours de la bougainvillée dans le jardin, in the front... quant au quartier, faut que je vérifie ça avec mon frère alors..
