Pkeener said at 9:11 a.m. on May 3, 2008: from the look on his face, i would say he's playin da blues. was he a street musician? he looks so fresh! great shots dar. the first one makes me take pause along with him and then the second one brings the notes.
Jerii said at 9:41 a.m. on May 3, 2008: Great shots! I love the sound of a sax. The colors in the pictures and your tabblo are so mellow.
Eduardo.affonso said at 1:10 p.m. on May 3, 2008: Great portrait, DAR. I particularly like the effect of his face in the shadow (second pic) while his instrument shines. That's the way art works, isn't it?

AliDar said at 3:21 p.m. on May 4, 2008: Thanks everyone for stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments! :) ... Yep Annelies, I believe she (I thought she was a she at the time) was playing Jazz, ... An older Man, which I took to be her father, was playing a keyboard, but he didn't respond as well to my taking his picture as his daughter did. You're right Pam, the first shot is the breath between notes, and the second captures it being carried through. Allan I think you got it right about how you read her expression. I think it must be very hard being a street musician, playing your music for such long hours, waiting for someone to notice, ... and then when someone does, that's the moment you've been waiting for, and you put your soul into it, ... and I think I captured a bit of that happening in the second shot. ... The light pouring out of her lips, and, (like you said Eduardo) making her instrument shine.
AliDar said at 3:56 p.m. on May 4, 2008: and of course, I love the light on her face, the shadow of the braid, and the little bit of light caught in her eyes in the first shot. :)
Pkeener said at 12:16 a.m. on May 5, 2008: well, i stand corrected. i didnt perceive the gender. just the beauty of the moment. lovely.
Siagian said at 1:38 a.m. on May 5, 2008: this tabblo has soul.
Shenresi said at 3:01 a.m. on May 5, 2008: absolutely wonderful portraits, Dar!!! She`s looking as if she looks in another world- she`s not really here now- she`s reading notes from far away- yes, and I also like the shadows on her face- great job !!!
AliDar said at 12:54 p.m. on May 5, 2008: Thank you! :) ... Hey Pam don't sweat it. She or he has the sort of face that's hard to tell gender. ... I get that all the time myself, ... just did at the grocery store on the weekend. ... Anywho, This tab isn't about gender but about the beauty of hitting that sweet note, and yes, you did get it! :)
Bxrgirl27 said at 5:05 p.m. on May 5, 2008: Lovely - there is a lot of simplicity in this. Just her, her sax, and the music ....well - we have to hear it on our own. Well Done. :-)
