This little condo my husband made for the birds was a bit of a distance from away and I couldn't creep up to it because the bird would have flown away.

Your husband did a fine job constructing the condo. I think all you need now is a hide built near it, so that you can take photos without scaring off the birds :)

Thank you Spilly. Last year, I waited by the house and kept very quiet, they would poke their heads out and as soon as they saw me, pull right back in, and the mother was having a fit.

Thank you Korinka. The pole to the house is metal so cats cannot climb up and also the round thing underneath the house prevents animals from getting to the birds it also doubles as an extra feeding bowl for the birds.

This is pretty impressive, Doreen. An alternative to your husband building a hide might be a new 500mm lens. What would your husband say to that, I wonder!!

Looks like fun to watch. I didn't know a swallow would use a house like this...guess we learn something every day, if we're not careful. :-))
