frustration

Frustration is an emotion that occurs in situations where one is blocked from reaching a personal goal. The more important the goal, the greater the frustration. It is comparable to anger.

Sources of frustration may be internal or external. Internal sources of frustration involve personal deficiencies such as a lack of confidence or fear of social situations that prevent one from reaching a goal. Conflict can also be an internal source of frustration when one has competing goals that interfere with one another. External causes of frustration involve conditions outside the person such as a blocked road, lack of money, or lack of sexual activity.

In terms of psychology, passive-aggressive behavior is a method of dealing with frustration.

An increasingly common source of frustration is due strongly to the presence of computer technology. Because modern computing is marketed as user-friendly, it can be extremely frustating when one cannot achieve a goal due in part to a technological error, and because the user-friendly aspect is removed, many people find themselves unable to come to terms with their lack of options.

This is the original shot ...backyard thru glass block. I only turned the color "cooler"

Now we know that we can all make tabblos that will look a like. No individuality. We will become a collective. The BORG. Oh, no, it's the return of the Robots. We have been assimilated.
Trout921 said at 9:48 p.m. on May 15, 2008:
I like to think that frustration is caused by our society relying on computers too much to make their decisions...In effect, no one is able to think for themselves or to experience life beyond the keyboard. This is exasorbated when an error is made but the person involved doesn't see it because the COMPUTER is telling them what to do!!! We have been removed from humanity by the power of the technology. If more people don't start seeing people instead of numbers and key strokes, this is going to be one frustrated world!!! Okay...I'll go back to my corner now and be quiet...

There's nothing wrong with progress, as long as it improves & does not detract. Unfortunately, the new controls that have been afforded us by tabblo are a step backward, not forward. It has taken away much of the pleasure I had in producing sets. But in the greater scheme of things, I suppose it is no big deal. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Learning how to deal with frustration is the most important part of becoming an adult. To be frank, I think the only good thing about being an adult (or about aging) is to be able to manage frustration without feeling bad. I haven't reached that level yet, of course, so I'm doing my best to survive the changes. As you said, it's not a matter of life and death...
Pattymaryclare said at 5:42 p.m. on May 20, 2008:
Well said Bill and I'm a little disappointed in new changes but will always adapt! and EDUARDO! (for once we agree...in theory) on the important part of dealing with frustration as ad adult. It's wonderful being an adult (and watching yourself in the aging process I find fascinating ! DESIDERATA says: surrender up the things of youth gracefully') but to keep that childish curiosity and creativty is imperative. THERE ARE MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT MATURING ....if you fear 'aging' then you fear death....Noone can live a PEACEFUL life w/o aceepting that THINGS WILL ALWAYS CHANGE.....it's how they handle it that counts! peace pmc out
Pattymaryclare said at 5:50 p.m. on May 20, 2008:
