Regret

If I could only turn back the hands of time I would. I'd hide from you all the darkness inside my soul, I'd cover up the sadness and the still festering sores that I've collected over the years, and I'd show you only what I know to be beautiful and pure. I'd keep from you the complexities of my thoughts, and share with you only the most joyous of feelings, because believe it or not, these are some of the things you've shown me, and I will carry them, and my love for you, with me for the rest of my life.

Sharing every emotion is what keeps us in a brotherhood of humanity . . . we need to feel pain to be able to bask in the euphoria of joy! I can feel the emotion from this photograph without even hearing the music . . . that is the gift of life!
AliDar said at 7:55 p.m. on May 22, 2008:
Keeli Thank you. <3
AliDar said at 8:06 p.m. on May 22, 2008:
I agree with you 100 percent. I know you can't feel one without knowing the other, and I almost gladly suffer all the pain life has to dish out to me because I know that pendulum swings both ways, ... and it is a gift, all of it.

OOps! Sorry Ray, I accidently deleted your comment while I was trying to delete my typo'd reply to you.

We are who we are and that is just the way life is. We can hide in the shadows praying that no one notices and/or talks to us; or we can accept and celebrate who we are and surround ourselves with "true" friends who accpet us without question. I chose the latter and I know you do to.

Dar, I am with Annelies on this. This is a very wonderful photo full of emotion - but no regrets...
AliDar said at 12:33 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
Thank you everyone for you kind and insightful comments. There are always regrets, what you should have done what you wish you hadn't, but not for the good stuff, that, I'd do it all again in a minute. ... just a little differently. <G> ... Hey Andre, break open a bottle and let's hear you play! Cheers!
Wildthing said at 6:11 a.m. on May 23, 2008:
Regrets are like saying 'If only I'd..........' And that way lies madness. Good or bad, you've got to play the hand you're dealt & move on. The next cards may be better or worse, but that's life: A game made up of luck, chance, and being in the right or wrong place when it goes down.

As a great French philosopher once sang, "non, rien de rien / non, je ne regrette rien". But it's not that easy...

Dar, this is something we all feel in one way or another. I agree with Deb...'we get up and go on'...hopefully learning in the process.
Abking said at 9:46 p.m. on May 23, 2008:
A violin can do that...You've encapsulated an elusive feeling.
JuDeck said at 7:16 a.m. on May 24, 2008:
Nice capture Dar, I like how you caught the hand and bow in motion while everything else is still. Motion is good, don't standstill for long :)

I wish i knew what he was playing that gave you the feeling of sadness and regret. it's a beautiful photos, Dar.
AliDar said at 7:29 p.m. on May 27, 2008:
Like Allan said, a violin can do that; it has a way of pulling out of you everything that is bitter and sweet, but like he also said, it is an elusive one, and just like everything else, it passes. :)
