My Hot Wheels

I  am in my  shiny new car, defying anyone to touch it. Next to me is my grand uncle Gerard known as a bon vivant and the post man in town, who apparently delivered more than mail to his women customers. My grand aunt Gabrielle was aware of his long deliveries, was not to be out done while he was away. They were married for over fifty years

I love the charming story that comes with this wonderful photo from your childhood! My brother and I had a go-kart, too, when we were young. We'd take turns driving it but he claimed it was more his than mine because I was a girl (to which I disagreed, because at that time I did not care too much about gender-assignment with toys.) Haha ;-D

what's up with all the grimacing? Maybe nobody wanted their pic taken?? HAd to laugh. Aunt Geraldine is the only one smiling that Mona Lisa smile...The Postman rings twice!!!

I have no idea who is on my uncle's lap and neither did my folks know. I remember them both as being fun and happy, it was always a good day when I saw them. They seem to have had an understanding with each other which did not diminish their affection for each other even though the postman rang more then twice. I wish I could add another chapter of their story but that is all I know so far. I will have to ask my folks what else they know since now I am all grown up to hear the more INTERESTING stories. I DO know there were many stories about them. Annelies, you're correct, I could not have scared away anyone with that face but I thought so at the time. Jigs, that is an interesting perspective, never had to face that delima.
