Nice concept. Your photograph is excellent. And I very much like the dreamy Parrish-style version.

:) I wasn't expecting the Monet version. ... Another spectacular photo Paul! You're just on a creative roll! I like your original and the Ansel Adams versions the best! The colour is whispy and atmospheric, and the B&W is just so crisp, with so much detail! Both are very good! BTW, you don't need your favourite artists to edit your work, you are doing wonderfully on your own. :)

Yes!!! These are wonderful... don't know how you did Parrish... would love to know... I like them all... but think Monet would have used more color ;p

Thank you all for the nice comments. I was playing with changing the colour balance and saturation -noticing how minor variations change the mood. One of the tools I was using was the neutral colour selector - clicking on different areas of the image to see what it did, when I noticed that an area of the sky had turned that wonderful translucent azure that I always think of as "Maxfield Parrish blue" when I see it in the late evening sky. The "Monet" version was perhaps a bit of a cheap shot, but when I sharpened and resharpened the image several times it took on that dreamy inferred rather than stated detail that made me think of him. I wish I could figure out how to do an Emily Carr version with great swirls of colour that say as much about how the place felt as how it looked. The original, by the way, was taken at Lac Govreau, Quebec.

oops - that should be Gauvreau not Govreau

i concur 100% with Dar, Paul........Monet was the 'daub, daub, dauber of course yet the 'color' is now gone...perhaps try the Parrish with the sharpening tool or 'film grain' for a variation on a theme? LOVE TO SEE THAT ,,,*BTW I do paint from photographs mostly* but did one tab of an abstract/expressionist , then DID use the sharpening big time.. here's the effect: http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/891986/ I DO LOVE ANSEL ADAMS WORK. your pic even on thumbnail was one I HAD TO SEE..~PMC

The only reason I wasn't expecting to see the Monet version was because I hadn't expected to see a photo rendered so well to appear like one with applied filters. the dab like pixels remind me of Monet too! :)

Wow, Paul, these are neat...really like the transformations.
