MY MONA LISA

WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE IS THINKING ?

What a wonderful expression. But I thought Mona lisa smiled. This chimp doesn't look very cheerful. Maybe she's eaten too many bananas & got belly ache :) Great photograph.

No, Mona has more of a smirk than a smile. I have always thought she was passing gas myself !

Hey Emma , perhaps i should have called her 'THE THINKER' :-)

No, I think she looks wistful, almost sad... she's thinking about life in the wild... that "grass is greener" syndrome...

What sadness and loneliness this sweet face reflects. What kind of life in a wire enclosure!!
I agree with Jodi's comments!

I'm with you Bethe27 and Jodi. Whilst zoo's do have good breeding programmes and sometimes do actually re- introduce animals back into the wild - i do have my reservations.

Its sad to see animals in captivity...but these days especially with all the turmoil and poaching certain species are better off in captivity...especially the Chimps and the Mountain Guerilla's!

Great expression captured, though a sad one

"When will the paparazzi leave me alone?"

I love your title, but I think the Mona Lisa is happier than this critter. I really like the lighting of this pic.

Hi Lorraine. This is an amazing expression and if I may suggest an idea - would be to crop the original in close enough to focus attention on the face and I mean CLOSE. The lighting is perfect and I guess the result will be as close to a painting as you could imagine. It is a beautiful capture indeed. Mike.
