Yumm... lunch?!

On a one fine afternoon, Max and his human were surprised by a visitor knocking on the window.

Max: "Hey... lookie... lunch!"

Me: "No, Maxie. That's the state bird of Iowa, the American goldfinch or Carduelis tristis."

Max: "Tristis lunch for me, no?"

Max kept a close look on the little bird. And if you could see closely at his mouth, you could see his tongue; seems like Max was thinking that the Goldfinch was perfect for lunch.

A Terrific shot. I think Max is is just studying the bird in the way any ornithologist would, with no malice aforethought :)

Very nice one! I guess birdy was lucky to have a window in the midst of them!

Hahaha, absolutely zany but being the human of a Jack Russell myself, I can certainly believe that that is exactly what Max had in mind as he licked his chops! :-D

LOL @ EMA. I think he was thinking, "Focus... focus... if you move, it'll be gone."

Jude: I was running to my bedroom to get the camera and tip toeing back to the family room to snatch this pic. All those comotion did not bother Max at all. He was so still... staring at the little Goldfinch (and smacking his lips).
