Elafonisi

Pancratium Matitimum commonly known as the Sea Daffodil or Sea Lily. It grows in the sand dunes of Elafonisi, flowering from August until October.

These windswept sand dunes are home to an huge variety of plants.

Elafonisi is a small wind swept island just off the south west corner of Crete, Greece. It is accessible via a sandbar. It is made up of rock and sand dunes. The sand is white but on the edge of the sea it is tinged with pink caused by the breakdown of sea shells.

I like the rhythm of yous Tabblo, large and small pictures, with great line of a gull!

Beautiful beaches, Celia. I don't think it is too common to see heather growing among the sand dunes - heather is one of my favourites perhaps because I come from Scotland originally. Congrats on TOD - definitely a worthy choice!

Beautiful, beautiful place. So peaceful - I just love sea pictures and shorelines. The colours are so lovely. The layout of the tabblo is interesting also, having some smaller photos scattered around. I like the one of the large rock, which looks like a turle has emerged from the depths with a garland of greenery around his neck! LOL... Wonderful!

Celia...what a beautful tabblo!!!!!! I was in Greece long ago (in college) and I remeber the color of the water...i have never seen heather growing! well done! congrats on TOD!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Il y a tant de belles petites îles autour de la Crête et de la Grèce,j'ai eu la chance d'aller sur l'île de Cèphalonie,il y a 20 ans,même paysages superbes et surtout quasiment pas de touristes.Merci pour ce beau voyage!
