Baby, It's Cold Outside

The UK's thick with snow,

crisp and glittering white.

My nose is all aglow,

as bright as any red stop light.

This song from Dean says it all:)

Footsteps in the snow,

I wonder where they go!

My first thought was YIKES! MAYBE MIKE'S HITTING THE 'SAUCE' A LITTLE TOO HARD lol or he's vying for Rudolph's job...VERY CLEVER AND CUTE AND THE rest of this set is BREATHTAKING. My dad always puts out suet for the birds and so did I in Calgary *no trees in my yard here*. THANKS FOR A GREAT LAFF AND a great panorama on that 2nd shot Mike . Now to listen to Deano luv Patty xo
Lifequest22 said at 6:01 p.m. on Feb 6, 2009:
Looks like you're catching cabin fever too, Mike. Beautiful wide open spaces glistening in that 2nd image. Looks too cold to walk anywhere.

#2 would never be that beautiful if there wasn't the snow, MIKE. And you wouldn't probably so inspired...

Great photos Mike! I was gonna make mention of hitting the bottle too much, but Pattymaryclare beat me to it!

Hey, Brian, do you & Patty suppose that it's the sauce making my nose red? HIC! :)

I am reading this as an early build up to RED NOSE DAY (Comic Relief) in the UK http://www.rednoseday.com/
I'm guessing that the high shot, looking out over the fields is from the top floor of your residence. Probably from some stately manor in southern England. You never tolds us you had royal blood in them there veins of yours Mike, but judging by the colour of your nose it has been watered down somewhat. #2 is a much nicer view this time than those thretening skies of the earlier posting. As for that great spotted woodpecker, Isn't he supposed to be employed elsewhere making an impression?
Mike.

VERY CUTE MIKE. I LIKE THE SECOND PICTURE. I USE TO PUT OUT BIRD FEEDERS FOR THE BIRDS, BECAUSE I LOVE TO WATCH THEM, BUT ALL I DO IS BRING THEM IN SO GEORGE CAN CATCH THEM. SO I QUIT DOING THAT. BUT I LOVE WATCHING THE BIRDS. GREAT TABLOO. LAY OFF THE SAUCE NOW, MAYBE THATS WHAT MY CATS BEEN INTO THAT MAKES HIM ACT SO CRAZY. LOL, RHONDA

Wildthing said at 4:29 a.m. on Feb 7, 2009:
Must be the Cat Mint Julep cocktails that makes George crazy, Rhonda. Mix them with more cat mint and less Scotch. Or better still, trade the mint for marijuana leaves. That'll chill him out, and he'll just purr 'peace and love' to the birds:)
Wildthing said at 4:31 a.m. on Feb 7, 2009:
Mike: Not a stately home down south. A small cottage up in the Yorkshire Wolds:)l

Wildthing said at 8:05 a.m. on Feb 7, 2009:
The brandy is on the way, Scully. Mitch is arranging for a few cases of liquid gold to be air-lifted out to my neck of frozen woods, so I'm watching the skies, 'cause the booze is out there.
AdSR said at 8:09 a.m. on Feb 7, 2009:

Great shots Mike!! I've just heard there's more snow coming in England! Maybe your glowing nose can melt it away! :-)) Take care and stay warm!!
Wildthing said at 8:42 a.m. on Feb 8, 2009:
Thanks, Louise. I've gone into hibernation till it thaws, like an old, tired bear:)
PhotoPop said at 11:54 a.m. on Feb 8, 2009:
Mike, you can't convince me there is THAT much snow in merry old England, although it may feel like it. Cabin fever, three days locked in the house does not qualify, try three stinking weeks like we have. The snow is always whiter in the other fellows yard. Nice shots.
Chaitiamma said at 11:56 a.m. on Feb 8, 2009:

Couldnt help but laff at Photopop's very funny comment! TRY 3 TO 6 MONTHS of the VERY white stuff and 'MILE HIGH SNOWBANKS' Mike and PP and then you'll have, as my father says often, REAL CABIN FEVER!!! We hardy 'crazy Canuckians' are so named for a REASON LOL.... Loved your play on the 'grass is always greener' too! LOL nyuk nyuk ~ pmc

SNOWWHITE: I'm sure something would pop. PATTY: Maybe you should relocate. Unless you're a polar bear, or a masochist, or both:)
Pattymaryclare said at 2:05 p.m. on Feb 8, 2009:
No no Mike....we don't 'relocate' we just are aptly named 'snowbirds' when we jet south for part of the winter. NOT TO THE U.K. that's for sure haha.

'I'm not a POLAR BEAR .grrrhh!!! I'm A HUMAN BEING!! ' you may call me Nanookette of the North LOL

As for masochism I'd say more a case of we're all geographically born and we adapt Would your comment make you what? a sadist!? thanks for a lotta' chuckles this weekend man! luv Nanookette aka Patty xo

Life & love in the arctic. I think you should make a sequel to 'Nanook of the North'. Could call it 'Nanookette does the Arctic'. Do you live in a spacious igloo with all mod cons? :)
Pattymaryclare said at 2:39 p.m. on Feb 8, 2009:
NNette does the Arctic?!? IT'S BEEN DONE ALREADY...by Nanook! Plagarism. Besides she's not that kinda gal! Lol ...Yes indeedy, I have the dog sled team, the mukluks AND snowshoes too! (you may wish to borrow them?) And of course the penultimate........snowmobile with which to escape now hungry aforesaid polar bears, vroom from ice floe to floe and just generally watch the place melt down and await further destruction with greedy oil seekers!?! MY IGLOO IS SO BIG ITS CALLED THE ''WHITE HOUSE TOO'' ha! bet you're REALLY jealous now! tee hee
Wildthing said at 3:02 p.m. on Feb 8, 2009:
Sounds like a real adventure living up there at the top of the world. Be okay for a couple of weeks, but I prefer warmth. Big softie that I am:)
