Mantra

mantra is a sound, syllable, word or group of words that are considered capable of

"creating transformation" .

Mantras can be interpreted to be effective as vibration, or more simply as sound, which may include verbal repetition, in the form of chanting, or internal mental repetition.

To Charles & Hitomi

Japan, April & May, 2009

Just by repeating the name,

that which can not be understood

     Will be understood

just by repeating the name

that which can not be seen

   Will be seen

Mantra is sound, and sound is reverberating

in everything in this universe.

When water flows, the gurgling sound it makes

is mantra. When wind blows through the trees,

the  rustling sound it produces is mantra.

When we walk on the earth, our footsteps produce sound, and that too is mantra. Within  human beings  there is a self-born, indestructible sound which repeats itself constantly, along with our breathing and this sound is also a mantra.

The mute consonants represent the earth, the sibilants the sky, the vowels heaven.

The mute consonants represent fire,

the sibilants air, the vowels the sun.

The mute consonants represent the eye,

the sibilants the ear, the vowels the mind.

 Sarveśām Svastir Bhavatu

 Sarveśām Sāntir Bhavatu

Sarveśām Pūrnam Bhavatu

 Sarveśām Mangalam Bhavatu

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

Beautiful, wonderful, sensational, splendid. I like your taste. I appreciate your art. When you grow up, I want to be like you.

Eduardo, your pictures always tell us a story that makes our lives richer just by seeing them. And you are also able to come up with the right words that make the story even more enlightening. You have taken pictures that the normal eye wouldn't even pay attention to and you have made them a work of art. This Tabblo is truly inspiring. Hope you are glad to be back home and I bet you are probably looking forward to your next adventure.

This is amazing! You learned a lot about mantras and I'm glad you told us about it! Some years ago I sang some mantras and loved it! It was a very nice experience! I love the photos. I love this tabblo!

Fantástico!É um show .
Li isso e gostei:
"s OM os
s UM us.
E em nós,
húmus
nus,
a poesia do cosmo

Well, my friends, all I can say is this new mantra: "thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you".

Hope you'll come back again and listen to the song I added (the final title is a link to a video on Youtube, a song called "Mantra", with great lyrics (by Nando Reis & Arnaldo Antunes) which I am not able to translate, but I guess you will be able to understand it anyway).

Again: obrigado, gracias, salamat, spasiba.

Beijo. Gau

wonderful, what you are showing here Eduardo!!! I think a mantra is a poem which has a special sence, that leads you throu a strong time and helps you to get out of strange time, without many blessures.

Cher ami,

Visual mantra. Love this. As Artist Formerly Known as Prince (or is he now known again as Prince?) sang, "There's Joy in Repetition," and I think so too.
