At the Hollins Branch Library, Patrick Minges, editor of Black Indian Slave Narratives, read an excerpt from his book and discussed the relationship of African Americans and Native Americans in the 19th century.

The twenty-seven first-hand testimonies in his book are interviews collected by the Federal Writers' Project during the 1930's.
