Kootenays in the summer is summer at its best.  I don't think there is a better place to experience it.  Plenty of beaches to temper the blasting heat and the mountains become possibilities open for exploration, unlike the winters which as a prairie girl can cause me to feel a bit pent in. 

Also you just don't get summers this hot in northern Alberta!  After living in a beach town I don't think I will ever be able to live away from a large body of water, be it lake or ocean.

Summer 2005 garden

Spring this year is the nicest it's been since I moved here almost 4 years ago.  Looks like it's going to be a grand summer.  This year's  garden, however overcrowded,   should outshow our 2005 garden. 

Could be a bad season for fires this year though...
