I had gotten into the habit of collecting bottle caps because we were doing some "interior decorating" with them at the Fraternity House. When I went to my internship in Redmond in the Summer of 6, I found that I had a hard time just tossing the caps away and started setting them on the post next to the door. What resulted, the "beerow" was a unique work of art that I was a little proud of, so I decided to take a couple of photos before I tossed the caps at the end of my internship. After that I decided that I wanted to keep collecting these unique touchstones in my life as both art and memory. |

The shape of the "beerrow" just sort of happened as I continued to add caps. For the final version I did a slight bit of rearrangement for a few color patterns, but largely this work just evolved in this form over the course of the Summer. |

The Fall work, I (fittingly) titled "Ode to a Bottle Opener" was a much more planned effort than the previous one. All of the types of caps were actually sorted and then laid out, with a capping piece being that of the aforementioned bottle opener's keychain ring. |

"Holiday Stars" is a smaller work than the previous encompassing only about a month and a half of caps (not to mention a return to drinking growlers from the local microbrewery). The layout is much less planned than the previous, as the basic technique was dropping the caps more or less at random on the floor, whose faux-hardwood gives a unique background to the collection. |
