Puddle Jumping

Two days into spring, and it was sunny and almost even warm. Well, warm for New England at least. So AJ and I went out to enjoy the day.

The only problem: There was still  a good eight inches of snow on the ground. Being confined to the driveway wasn't a problem for a couple curious souls, though. It was time to learn the wonders of

PUDDLES!

Our driveway isn't the most level stretch of asphalt in this world, which gave AJ a couple prime choices. It didn't take her long to search one out and give her feet a good dousing

Her first thought? Hey, this is different.

Her second thought? Hey, this is cool!

True to form, our little Miss Adara had to check it out with every sense. Looks good. Feels slimy, but interesting. Smells interesting and outside-y. Tastes . . . gross. Uh oh. I think I hear Mommy telling me no.

Well, I guess if I can't eat it, I may as well stomp on it!

Not even AJ the Energizer Bunny can puddle-jump forever. Or at least that's what I told her. (If she could converse at length, I think she would have argued. And asked could she please bring the cats with her next time?)

Going inside meant going through the walkway: the toddler-equivalent of a race course. And there's no way that AJ can resist a race course. Up, down, up, down . . .

Even the wind from her full-speed walkway run wasn't enough to dry out her pants, though. But, hey, who needs pants? Not us!
