The TSVH Hibiscus

This small plant (for a hibiscus) is near the entrance to the Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, TX where my Dad lives (see the TSVH Tabblo).

I was so impressed with its efforts at blooming in spite of its diminutive size! And a lot more buds yet to open!

Depressing footnote September, 2007: this brave plant's blooms had faded by the next day due to a failure of the sprinkler system. It has subsequently been removed when the bed was relandscaped. I feel honored to be the harbinger of its heyday.

And it doesn't look like really rich soil or anything. The plant obviously has a strong desire to live and grow. And these are good size healthy looking flowers. Nice pictures. Fun Tabblo!
