Hi, you asked about my fireworks pictures. ( http://app.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view/53543/ )

I use a tripod and a remote shutter release. The tripod holds the camera steady and the remote shutter release keeps me from moving the camera when I push the button. If you don't want to buy a shutter release you can always use the self timer on your camera.

Other than that I set the camera at f/11 and use a bulb exposure. Just holding the shutter open for as many fireworks as I want in a single picture.

Hope that helps, Good luck.

Oh, thank you! Yes, I don't have a steady hand at all, a tripod would make all the difference. At a hockey game I went to - everyone was given a lighted necklace to wear. Once the lights were out, all you could see were these necklaces. I tried to capture it, and I tried to brace my hand on a nearby railing - but that didn't help. I still moved it just enough to blur it.
