This particularly weekend I had my first trip outside of the United States, to Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada.

We stayed in the SameSun Hostel downtown.  It was uniquely close to the action, as well as my first stay in a Hostel.  Most likely my last as well, as interesting as it was.

Our first major stop was Stanley Park, a gorgeous old growth forest park.  We walked around a large part of the park's sea wall, then threw a frisbee around until lunch.

We picnicked some Burgers on the Spanish Main Beach.

We walked around Granville Island, below the Granville Street bridge.

We visited the dam that creates the main reservoir for Vancouver.

Sunday started with a long walk through a Vancouver botanical garden.

Lunch in the tourist section (Gastown), which was packed with action from the Vancouver Jazz Festival.  We choose a Indian place near the stage, while an Indian jazz group played.

Dinner back in Seattle's U-District at a unique sausage place.
