Karatara is a new university that is being set up in South Africa to educate black South Africans free of charge. It will focus on teaching agriculture, construction, and eco-tourism.
Karatara was founded by Steve Carver (left). The photos show a trip to Karatara in its very early stages by Mally, David and Gaby Skok who will be organizing a fund raiser for Karatara in Boston, Sept 16th 2006. |

Karatara have been granted use of a very large piece of land close to Knysna, on the Garden Route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
The land is large enough for an extensive campus, a game reserve, and a small hotel for eco-tourists to come and visit. |
