Mount Rainier

Even though it's more than 60 miles south of where we live, Mount Rainier is visible on the horizon much of the time. It floats in the air, looking like someone painted the sky.

 

These photos were taken over the weekend on our first visit to the mountain. The photo below shows the remains of the glacier on the mountain that has receded substantially in the last century.

 

A big highlight for our kids was being able to play in the snow in July.
