Sogay, Arequipa

La campiña de Arequipa: green fields filling a long river canyon, old adobe homes, no buses, no noise, no pollution...

Sogay is a tiny traditional town about an hour's drive from downtown Arequipa.  María Elena's family invited July, Naty, and I to their country home there for a celebration of her mother's 90th birthday in October.  Peruvian-style cookout and a spontaneous dance party (four generations shakin' it to salsa music, very normal in Peru!) made for a lovely, relaxing day.
