The Icehotel is situated in Jukkasjärvi - a small village, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, in Sweden.
It’s rebuilt every year, and the heart and backbone is the frozen water of River Torne, which is flowing freely through the unspoilt wilderness.
As soon as winter begins, a team of snow builders, architects, designers and artists from all over the world gather in the little town of Jukkasjärvi
and start creating the art and design of the persihable material. Each year with new artists with their unique design.
The hotel has several rooms and suits. Also an Absolut Icebar, where the drink is served in iceglass, "drinks in the rocks".
The temperature inside is about –7 celsius - depending on the climate outdoors, which can drop down to –40 celcius.
There is also an ephemeral church - an icechurch for baptism and weddings.
Imagine a whole hotel built of big icerocks, thousands tons of it - It’s like a fairytail coming true.
